Duck saved by Brendan with a hook in its beak
Late night rescue for this corella that got himself all caught up in some material that was in the ground at a housing development site in cranbourne. Lucky for this little one that a cleaner happened to spot its struggle. It has lost a whole part of its foot in the struggle to release itself as the stringy material had twisted so much around his leg, and luckily no damage to the leg and just the foot. A course of antibiotics and then will be released back into the wild.. with one less claw but otherwise lucky.
Please pick up rubbish like this as it can be detrimental to wildlife.

Call for a magpie that seemed to be stuck on the second floor of a unit that is under construction. When we got there we discovered the whole place is fenced by temp fencing and gaining access without authorization was going to be hard. We made lots of phone calls to builder, security company and every other phone number we could find around the place, After speaking to the police they allowed me to gain access, as long as I didn't steal or damage anything ( well I was only going to steal the magpie so it was all good haha) being only tiny I was able to squeeze through a gap in the fence. Well after all the phone calls and by the time I got in through the back that was open with a large garage door, went up stairs the magpie had managed to leave by itself already, but not without leaving his poop on the new walls lol cheeky magpie. Oh and yes, I did set the alarm off ooops
